Home / Guides / Help and Support
Depending on your situation, there may be grants, finance options and other support to help with a heating upgrade. Always check current eligibility before you rely on any scheme.

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme may help eligible homes install a heat pump. See our heat pump grants guide for details, and check the latest rules on gov.uk.
Grant schemes change, and eligibility depends on your property, your existing heating and the type of system. Never assume a scheme applies until you have checked, and avoid committing to work on the strength of a scheme you have not confirmed.

Ask us about finance options and the warranty that comes with any system we install.
Warranty terms vary by manufacturer and by system, and some depend on regular servicing. We explain what applies to your equipment in your quote so that you know what is covered and what you need to do to keep it valid.
Scheme rules change, so always check the latest information on gov.uk or Ofgem. We are happy to talk you through what applies to you.
It also helps to keep the paperwork for any upgrade, including quotes, certificates and warranty documents, because you may need them later, for example when you sell the property.
We lay out the choices in plain English, so you know what you are deciding.
You receive clear details with no pressure to proceed.
We help you understand what to check and how applications work.
If a simpler or cheaper option will serve you better, we will say so.
Ask what the scheme covers and what it does not, who applies for it, when and how any funds are paid and what happens if your application is not accepted. Ask whether any conditions apply, such as the type of equipment, the state of your insulation or the fuel you are replacing.
If someone promises a grant that sounds too good to be true, check it with gov.uk or Ofgem before agreeing to anything. A reputable installer will be happy for you to do so.
You do not have to do everything at once. Many households work in stages: servicing and controls first, then insulation, then a new boiler or a heat pump when the time is right. Spreading the work can make it easier to manage, and good early choices, such as sizing radiators sensibly, make later steps easier.
We are happy to talk through a sensible order of work and what each stage would involve, so that you can plan with confidence.
Beyond grants and finance, support may be available through your local council, your energy supplier or national advice services, depending on your circumstances. Energy efficiency advice, insulation schemes and help for households on lower incomes are all worth checking.
Official sources such as gov.uk and Ofgem are the safest places to start. Be wary of unsolicited calls or letters offering free or heavily subsidised upgrades, and check any offer independently before giving out personal details.
Keep a folder with your quotes, invoices, certificates, commissioning records and warranty documents. If you sell your home, a buyer’s solicitor may ask for them, and a documented, serviced system is reassuring for buyers.
If you are a landlord, keep your gas safety records and service history up to date as well, since you may be asked for them.
